DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY INFRASTRUCTURE

 What is a Digital strategy?

It is a  five-year action plan for integrating information and Communications Technologies (ICT) into teaching, learning, and assessment processes in schools. It comprises Digital Literacy and Capacity, Digital Technology Infrastructure and Procurement and Digital Leadership. (UNESCO, 2020)




Understanding academic language and learning assistance skills and abilities is critical, as is identifying any institutional

or professional barriers preventing all practitioners from being at the cutting edge of digital literacy. While it is important to define and pinpoint the cognitive and technical abilities needed for all educators to exhibit digital literacy, it is also

helpful to take into account definitions of the term that go beyond the presence of basic abilities. (Podorava  et al., 2019)


For digital skills and competencies to be implemented in a way that is consistent with the school's digital plan, principals must play a crucial role. Regular management meetings will be necessary for this, where key decision-makers like the principal, senior teachers, and department heads may decide on the general course of action that will subsequently be carried out on a departmental level. The effectiveness of various forms of technology for the teacher-learning process

will need to be evaluated by the heads of departments.


After completing their pre-service education, teachers engage in a variety of formal and informal learning activities known

as professional development, according to Ivanova et al (2022). These formats include, among others, classes and seminars, individualized reading, in-class development, internships and work shadowing. It may also take the shape of training programs provided by universities and institutions for the preparation of teachers, or it may be created as a result of global collaboration on various projects related to education.  Since it's important to stay up-to-date on the most recent advancements and techniques to employ to improve instruction and learning, this tool can be very helpful to all teachers at

The Lodge School. 


Serviss, J. (2021) states that a “professional learning community” (PLC) is a team of educators who share ideas to enhance their teaching practice and create a learning environment where all students can reach their fullest potential. This can become very effective when PLCs are used to improve areas where teachers have identified weaknesses and such recommendations are implemented at the various levels and subject areas at The Lodge School.


What is a Technology Plan?

According to Haleem A. et al. (2022), digital technologies are a dynamic tool that can help improve education in several ways, including making it simpler for teachers to create instructional materials and presenting new opportunities for individuals to learn and participate. The acquisition and upkeep of digital equipment and other technical resources employed at The Lodge School are taken into account by these digital technology infrastructures. It also alludes to the kind of internet connectivity in our area, which has seen some difficulties over time as the focus has shifted to the security and safety of the information revealed and the accessibility of any necessary technical help.


A digital strategy establishes goals and objectives for how technology will be implemented and used as part of achieving

those goals. In contrast to a technology plan, which describes the school's investment in and use of technology and how it

will affect learning, a digital strategy is more focused on the future.
